Building Officials Licensing and Training

Building officials in Saskatchewan must hold a valid licence before a local municipality can appoint them to act on their behalf. As the authority with jurisdiction over the licensing process Building Standards:

• reviews licence applications and supporting information,
• works with Southeast Regional College to administer examinations,
• issues building official licences,
• maintains records about licensees,
• issues requests for payment and notices of renewals and
• cancels or suspends licences.
