$4.7 million in grants to the Fishing Lake and Waldsea Lake communities will assist with flood protection for property that was damaged from high water levels during spring flooding in 2007.

The goal of every fire department in Saskatchewan is to save lives and property from the destructive force of fire. Fire prevention is the single activity with the greatest potential for reducing fire losses. Preventing fires takes a serious commitment to public education.  Visit Public Safety & Sask 911 for a comprehensive list of resources for fire and life safety educators.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner education resources library has a variety of fire and life safety education materials available on loan. Check out the catalogue to find videos and instructional programs for every age group from preschool to older adults. To order public education materials call us at (306) 787-3774 or e-mail us at: FIRS@gov.sk.ca.
