   Did You Know Construction to replace the oldest part of the Regina Provincial Correctional Centre (RPCC) continues on schedule with plans for the facility to be operational in Fall 2008. Policing Services Division PolicingThere are currently 800 municipal police officers and 1,200 RCMP officers in Saskatchewan. This does not include the RCMP training academy in Regina. Police services in Saskatchewan cost $200 million a year. Policing is a local community responsibility. Communities can choose whether they have municipal police officers or RCMP officers providing prolice services. If you are interested in becoming a municipal police officer or a member of the RCMP, contact any police department or RCMP detachment.
