    Did You Know $4.7 million in grants to the Fishing Lake and Waldsea Lake communities will assist with flood protection for property that was damaged from high water levels during spring flooding in 2007. Recalls, Warnings and Advisories UL Issues Warning About Fire Fighting Foam Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is notifying the Fire Service and distributors that two Fire Extinguishing Media Wetting Agents manufactured by Pyrocool Technologies have not been evaluated by UL and bear an unauthorized UL Mark for the United States and Canada. The two products covered by the UL notice are Pyrocool FEF for Fresh and Salt Water and Pyrocool FEF-5 for Fresh and Salt Water. The two wetting agents have not been evaluated by UL. Pyrocool Technologies Inc. recommends the foam agents for use on Class A and Class B fires. It's not known what quantity of the two products has been sold in Canada. The company lists four Canadian suppliers on their web site. Two are in Ontario, one in Quebec and a fourth in New Brunswick with sales limited to the Maritime Provinces. |
